Mr. Cavit Memis, the founder and General Manager of Otat, started pulse trade in 1986 in his home town Mus province and moved his business to Mersin in 1990 together with family members. After working in different administrative positions, he diceded to leave this family company in 2005 and established his own company and factory in the same field. Recently, Otat has been one of the most preferred trade marks both locally and abroad.

Otat is premises consist of total 18.125 sqm land of which 10.000 sqm is closed warehouses for lentil mill and pulse processing units where sieving, destoning, gravitation, colour sorting, grading, packing, packaging, palletizing and storage are made in hygienic conditions. Lentil mill has a daily capacity of 250 tons for milling and processing red, green or yellow lentils while warehouses have a handling capacity of 350 tons per day and storage capacity of about 20.000 tons of while rice, chickpeas, white beans, light speckled kidney beans, black eyed beans, whole green peas, bulgur, husked wheat, broad beans and popcorn that we regularly trade (both export, import, wholedale and distrubition) through year.
